The rising demand for high-definition image-capturing devices in various industries has seen CMOS sensor technology witness a high adoption rate, providing high-quality images while delivering faster shutter speeds. The continuous improvements in image sensors is driving the need for new technologies such as die stacking and 3D interconnects. These new technologies are in turn driving the need for back-end-of-line thin film transistors such as those being developed by Zinite Corp.
Revise key fabrication process - currently this is a plasma process, in which the reactant gas enters a remote plasma tube for conversion and the resulting species generated in the plasma then pass into the reactor, reacting with the chemisorbed species. This will be replaced by a thermal process which uses more reactive precursors, to achieve the desired outcomes.
The future of electronics requires semiconductor and related materials which can be built along the z-axis. Zinite will demonstrate a high carrier mobility material required for a high performance back-end-of-line (BEOL) transistors.
Zinite has developed a specialty n-type thin film transistor with excellent performance suitable for adaptation to work with microwave PCB boards and substrates for compatibility with VCSEL array integration. In turn, this will support high-performance phased-array antenna strucutres suitable for radar and other defence applications.
This project will support development of intellectual property capacity within the Firm
